Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 24 June, the office of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu officially confirmed the country’s agreement to a ceasefire with Iran, as proposed by U.S. President Donald Trump, according to a report by Reuters.
Earlier, Donald Trump had announced on his Truth Social platform that Israel and Iran had reached a “full and comprehensive” ceasefire agreement. According to him, the ceasefire was to begin approximately six hours after the conclusion of ongoing military operations by both sides. The truce would be implemented in phases: Iran would initiate the ceasefire first, followed 12 hours later by Israel. After 24 hours, the 12-day conflict would be officially declared over.
Trump also expressed gratitude to both nations for their restraint, courage, and wisdom, which, he said, helped avert a prolonged and devastating war in the region. He later confirmed the start of the ceasefire and urged both parties to strictly adhere to its terms.
