Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 10 January 2023, Special Representative of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan for Afghanistan Ismatulla Irgashev met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Federal Republic of Germany to Uzbekistan Tilo Klinner.

During the conversation, issues of regional security were discussed, in particular the current situation around Afghanistan.

Tilo Klinner highly appreciated the efforts of Uzbekistan to develop a consolidated regional position on Afghanistan, establish long-term peace and stability in the country, and provide humanitarian assistance to the Afghan people.

Special attention was paid to the implementation of the initiative of the Government of Uzbekistan on the creation of an International Negotiating Group under the auspices of the UN, as well as the joint humanitarian use of the capabilities of the international logistics hub in Termez.
