Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Uzbek Ambassador Nodirjon Turgunov met with the Director General of the Project Planning Department of the Islamic Development Bank (IsDB), Anas Aysam, Dunyo news agency reported.
During the meeting, issues of enhancing cooperation between Uzbekistan and the IsDB were discussed, including preferential financing for major projects being developed in the country, support for women and youth, and the attraction of technical and humanitarian assistance.
Anas Aysam noted that the unprecedented changes observed in Uzbekistan in recent years have garnered significant interest from countries worldwide. He emphasized that the fundamental reforms initiated under the leadership of the President of Uzbekistan are yielding effective results and are of great importance in strengthening the country’s position on the international stage.
It was highlighted that following the successful implementation of the 2018-2022 cooperation strategy between Uzbekistan and the IsDB, a new strategy for 2022-2026 has been developed.
The parties exchanged views on the possibilities of financing projects in the fields of transport, logistics, education, agriculture and water management, ecology, livestock, and other areas.
Programs aimed at supporting women and youth in Uzbekistan were welcomed, and the prospects for expanding IsDB’s participation in these initiatives were considered.
Additionally, it was decided to organize a practical visit for IsDB representatives to Uzbekistan to continuously monitor the implementation of projects financed by the bank and to discuss future plans.
