The session summed up results of social-economic development of Uzbekistan for 2012 and approved main perspectives of economic programme for 2013.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov underlined that State Testing Center under the Cabinet of Ministers will prepare rating based on approved methodology. Based on rating, the report on development of higher education in Uzbekistan will be submitted to the Government.

Uzbek leader said that the universities will be rated on index of teaching quality and scientific potential (35% of total points), index of student skills and graduates (20%). Other 10% will be given to other parameters.

Islam Karimov underlined that the rating system will determine place of universities and it will develop competition among them. It will also help to access weak points and reserves of reforming education system and training of specialists.
