Islam Karimov congratulates US President, Secretary of State with New Year
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov congratulated President of the United States of America (USA) Barack Obama and Secretary of State of the USA Hillary Clinton on the occasion of the New Year.

“Let me earnestly congratulate You and Your family on the New Year 2012. The outgoing year has been distinct with remarkable accomplishments in bilateral cooperation in the political, economic and humanitarian areas. We have built up a noteworthy potential of close interaction in ensuring regional security, particularly in addressing the situation in Afghanistan,” the Uzbek President said in his congratulation letter to Barack Obama.

“I would like to affirm again that Uzbekistan remains open for further enhancement of multidimensional dialogue directed at consolidating the multifaceted relations with the United States on principles of confidence, mutual respect and equal partnership that unequivocally meet the longer-term interests of our two nations.”

“Availing myself to this agreeable opportunity, I would like to wish You, Mr. President, a sound health and every success in Your responsible post, along with wellbeing and prosperity to the entire friendly people of America,” Islam Karimov said.

In his message to Hillary Clinton, Islam Karimov said: “The passing year has proved a rather fruitful period in the advancement of relations between our two countries. We have been able to reinforce the constructive capacities of interaction on the entire range of bilateral cooperation. In all this we acknowledge Your personal, quite remarkable commitment.”

“I am convinced that in the new year we can expand with our joint efforts the productive and practical Uzbek-American partnership in such key areas as bolstering mutually rewarding economic ties, countering contemporary threats and challenges, maintaining peace, security and stability in the region,” the Uzbek leader stated.

“Taking this pleasant opportunity, I wish You, Mrs. Clinton, a robust health, family wellbeing and every success in Your responsible job,” he added.
