Islam Karimov approves agreement on trade representative office in Turkmenistan
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov signed a resolution on 19 July 2011 to approve an agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of Turkmenistan on mutual establishment of trade representative offices.

The resolution also approved an agreement between the Government of Uzbekistan and the Government of Turkmenistan on scientific-technical cooperation.

Both of these documents have been signed on 5 May 2011 in Tashkent during the official visit of Turkmenistani President Gurbanguli Berdymuhamedov to Uzbekistan.

In line with the presidential resolution, activities of Trade Representative Office of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan will be coordinated and accountable to the Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations, Investment and Trade of Uzbekistan (MFERIT).

Expenses, related with activities of Trade Representative Office of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan, will be financed due to resources of the specialized foreign trade companies Uzinterimpeks, Uzmarkazimpeks, Markazsanoareksport, Uzprommashimpeks under the MFERIT, as well as other sources.

Within a month after the documents enter into force, the Cabinet of Ministers will develop and approve legislative documents, regulating creation, financing and activity of the Trade Representative Office of Uzbekistan in Turkmenistan.

President of Uzbekistan Islam Karimov entrusted the Government to ensure control over execution of liabilities of Uzbekistan.

President Islam Karimov entrusted the Ministry of the Foreign Affairs to notify Turkmen side about implementation of inter-state procedures, necessary for entering into force of the agreements.
