The Kremlin press service said that the telephone conversation was held on the initiative of the Uzbek side.
Russia is the largest trade partner of Uzbekistan. Trade turnover between the countries grew by 55.9% from US$823.3 million in the first quarter of 2010 to US$1.284 billion in January-March 2011.
At the same time, the share of Russia in total foreign trade turnover of Uzbekistan made up 22.4% in the first quarter of 2011.
