Iranian Vice President Sorena Sattari meets with the Minister of Innovative Development

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 19 July, the visit of a delegation led by Vice-President for Science and Technology of the Islamic Republic of Iran Sorena Sattari to the Republic of Uzbekistan began. Sorena Sattari was met at the airport by the Minister of Innovative Development Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov.

Sorena Sattari's visit to Uzbekistan is aimed at strengthening cooperation in the field of science, innovation and technology. He got acquainted with the activities of the INNO technopark under the Ministry of Innovative Development. Sorena Sattari and members of the delegation got acquainted with the biotechnological laboratory, equipped with modern special technical equipment, production workshop, soil fertility analysis laboratory, sound laboratory, robotics and standardization rooms.

During a meeting with the Minister of Innovative Development Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov, Sorena Sattari focused on the issue of further expanding cooperation in the field of biotechnology between Iran and Uzbekistan.

“The achievements of the two countries in the field of biotechnology, common views and the desire for mutually beneficial cooperation are of particular importance. We are ready to scale up the production of innovative products as part of start-up projects, by financing start-up and scientific projects in the field of biotechnology, by creating conditions for joint scientific work of our scientists, as well as commercialize the results of scientific work. I believe that investments in this area will serve to further develop innovative entrepreneurship in accordance with the interests of both countries,” said the Vice President of Iran.

In turn, Ibrohim Abdurakhmonov said that following his trip to Iran in March this year, cooperation was established with more than 20 Iranian companies, research institutions and innovation infrastructure facilities. He noted that Sattori's visit to Uzbekistan will provide an opportunity to further expand this cooperation.

It should be noted that during the visit of the delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan to the Islamic Republic of Iran on March 14-17 this year, a memorandum of cooperation was signed between the Ministry of Innovative Development and the Office of the Vice President for Science and Technology of Iran. During this visit, 25 meetings were held, including 7 with Iranian government agencies, 3 with scientific organizations and 15 with private companies, agreements were reached on the study of best practices and technology transfer.

Within the visit of the Vice-President of the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari to the Republic of Uzbekistan, on July 20 this year, the "Uzbek-Iranian Scientific and Innovation Forum" will be held jointly with the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology of Iran and the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan. Within the framework of the forum, ''The exhibition of products of innovative companies and start-ups of Uzbekistan and Iran'' will be organized in the exhibition hall of the Ministry of Innovative Development. Innovative developments and products of enterprises and organizations of the two countries will be presented here.

35 leading Iranian innovative companies operating in the field of medicine, animal husbandry, food industry and other fields will take part with their innovative products and projects. Within the framework of the exhibition, meetings of business representatives of the two countries will be organized in the “B2B” format in order to further strengthen cooperation between businessmen of Uzbekistan and Iran, and establish mutually beneficial relations in such areas as agriculture, animal husbandry, medicine, IT and food industry.

The official visit of Iranian Vice-President for Science, Technology and Innovation Sorena Sattari to our republic will strengthen the practical mechanisms of our relations of mutual cooperation and reach new agreements on promising areas of innovative activity in the future.
