Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - An article on the results of the Tashkent International Tourism Fair “Tourism on the Silk Road” has been published on the website of the Iranian newspaper Iran Daily, the Dunyo reports.

The journalist of this publication A. Ahmadlu reports that at a press conference in the framework of TITF-2019, the chairman of the State Committee for Tourism Development of Uzbekistan A. Akkulov noted the developing cooperation between Uzbekistan and Iran in the field of tourism and trade.

He also emphasized that Iran with more than 80 million people is a good tourism market for developing cooperation in this area, as well as promoting the tourism potential of our country. In this regard, in the near future direct flights will be established between Tashkent and Tehran, which will be served by Iranian Zagros Airlines.

“In the short term, the issue of establishing flights between the historical cities of Uzbekistan and Iran is also being considered. Our countries have sufficient potential and infrastructure that will help to build a tourist bridge in the near future, ”the publication quotes the words of the leadership of the State Committee for Tourism of Uzbekistan.

Further in the materials it is reported that this exhibition became the largest event of the tourism industry of Uzbekistan and the Central Asian region, which took place in the exhibition halls of Uzexpocenter with a total exhibition area of more than 10 thousand square meters.

The exhibition fair was held with the official support of the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) in order to implement the Great Silk Road transcontinental project.

The author also emphasized that TITF is the most effective information platform for promoting a tourism product and establishing business contacts. The event allowed leading experts of the world to exchange experiences, discuss current tourism problems and present new directions.
