Finance 17/07/2007 Ipoteka Bank’s assets up by 33.9% in 1H 2007

The assets of the Ipoteka Bank, one of the five largest banks of Uzbekistan, increased by 33.9% to 562.6 billion soums in January-June 2007, Interfax reported citing the bank’s management.

Over the reporting period, the bank’s credit portfolio grew by 34.3% to 222.15 billion soums, and liabilities – by 34.4% to 520.63 billion soums. The financial institution’s own capital increased by 28.4% to 41.97 billion soums.

Ipoteka Bank (Mortgage Bank) was established in April 2005 through the merger of UzJilSberBank (Uzbekistan Housing Savings Bank) and Zamin Bank. The main direction of the bank’s activity is the extension of preferential long-term loans for individual housing building and financing of enterprises producing construction materials. The bank currently has 39 branches.

The bank has 15,800 shareholders, including some 11,000 individuals and 5,000 corporate entities.
