Twenty-six teams will be involved in qualifying action for 12 places in the Finals, which takes place next year in Uzbekistan.
The teams have been divided into two qualifying groups in each zone.
The top two teams from each group will qualify for the crossover semi-finals in their respective zones with only the top three going through to the Finals.
Reigning champions Iran, runners-up Thailand, Japan and 2010 edition hosts Uzbekistan have direct entry into the tournament proper.
China were drawn with Korea Republic and Guam in the three-team Group B of the East Zone, while Group A comprises Japan, Chinese Taipei, Hong Kong and Macau.
Japan are taking part in the qualifiers because the East Asian Football Federation (EAFF) has designated the event as their official regional tournament and the 2006 Asian champions’ ranking will not be considered when the standings of the qualifying group are decided.
Lebanon were placed in Group A of the West Zone alongside Qatar, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia while Iraq found themselves in Group B with Kuwait and Jordan.
Australia were drawn in Group A of the ASEAN zone qualifiers alongside hosts Indonesia, Brunei and Myanmar.
Malaysia, Vietnam, Cambodia and the Philippines complete Group B of this zone.
The qualifiers for the South-Central Zone, involving teams from Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Afghanistan, will be played in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
