Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Ookla has published Speedtest.net data “Tracking the Impact of COVID-19 on the Global Internet Performance” as of June 2020. According to new data, the speed of the fixed Internet (Fixed Speed Change) increased by 17 percent, the speed of the mobile Internet (Mobile Speed Change) - by 26 percent.

In the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, as of June, the speed of the global fixed Internet (Fixed Speed Change) increased by 3 percent, the speed of mobile Internet in the world - by 9 percent (Mobile Speed Change).

It should be noted that in the period of the COVID-19 pandemic, Uzbekistan showed a positive increase in the speed of the Internet, despite an increase in the number of users. So, as of the beginning of June, the speed of the fixed Internet increased by 6 percent (Fixed Speed Change), and the speed of the mobile Internet - by 18 percent. As of the second half of June, this figure was 8 percent (Fixed Speed Change) and 16 percent (Mobile Speed Change), respectively.

According to the latest data, the increase in Internet speed also showed a positive result. Thus, the speed of the fixed Internet increased by 17 percent (Fixed Speed Change), the speed of the mobile Internet - 26 percent (Mobile Speed Change).
