Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential resolution "On measures to prepare and hold the international event Khiva - the tourist capital of the Islamic world in 2024" was adopted.

According to the resolution, in 2024 Khiva will host:

In March - the official opening ceremony of the international event "Khiva - the tourist capital of the Islamic world in 2024";

in May - the XII session of the Ministers of Tourism of the Member States of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.

The following events will be organized in 2023-2024:

gastronomic festival "Taste of Uzbekistan Festival";

international competition of wrestlers "Strongmen", dedicated to the memory of Pakhlavon Mahmud;

events within the framework of the "Week of International Pilgrimage Tourism".

Also, the logo of the international event and a manual about the city of Khiva in Uzbek, Russian, English, Arabic and French will be released.

In October 2023, an info tour of the Khorezm region will be organized with the involvement of tourism organizations, media representatives and bloggers of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation.
