International Volunteer Forum of the Commonwealth Countries to be held in Tashkent

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- International Volunteer Forum of the Commonwealth Countries will be held in Tashkent.

The event will be held on 4-5 May in Tashkent as part of the “Tashkent – Youth Capital of the CIS” program. As you know, the decision to award the capital of Uzbekistan the honorary title of Youth Capital was made at the Council of Heads of Government of the CIS in 2023. This was reported by the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.

More than 100 representatives of the volunteer movement from the CIS countries will discuss issues of increasing volunteer activity, attracting public attention to the development of the volunteer movement, creating conditions for broadcasting the successful experience of effective volunteer models and technologies, and developing a socially active position among the youth of the Commonwealth countries. The forum program includes round tables, discussion platforms, master classes, and seminars. Forum participants will hold strategic sessions and organize a flash mob.

An important topic of the Forum will be issues of inclusion and barrier-free living space, including in the field of tourism. The Forum will include motivational meetings and video interviews aimed at increasing interest in the active life position of children and youth with disabilities.

During the Forum, a charity fair will be held, at which more than 500 works of children from specialized boarding schools and orphanages will be presented. These are paintings, postcards, soft toys, gold embroidery, batik, beadwork, appliques, embroidery, jewelry and much more.

Another important area of volunteer work is environmental responsibility, popularization of knowledge about the preservation of ecosystems and respect for nature.

The event is organized by the Volunteer Association of Uzbekistan with the support of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS Member States.
