Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 23 March 2021, the National Interbank Processing Center (NMPC) and the UnionPay International (UPI) payment system announced the start of cooperation. Now UnionPay cardholders will be able to pay for goods and services, as well as withdraw cash throughout Uzbekistan through HUMO terminals and ATMs.

“We continue to work to provide progressive and convenient solutions, as well as create additional opportunities for foreign guests. I am glad that UnionPay has entered the list of international partners of HUMO, following VISA and Mastercard. I am sure that holders of international UnionPay cards will appreciate the convenience of contactless payment. Let me remind you that to start accepting payments from UnionPay cards, an entrepreneur does not need to go to the bank; immediately after the online update, the terminal will be ready to work with cards,” comments Kurbanov Shukhratbek, director of the NMPC.

Thus, in less than 2 years from the beginning of work, the NMPC began to serve cards of four systems: HUMO, Mastercard, VISA, UnionPay International.

The number of HUMO terminals in Uzbekistan today is 230,000, and there are more than 4,100 ATMs.
