Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Advisor to the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of the International Islamic Academy Rustam Kasymov met with the leadership of the Islamic Scientific University of Malaysia (USIM) Mohammed Riza Wahiddin, International Islamic University of Malaysia (IIUM) Dzulkifli Abdul Razak and the Institute of Islamic Understanding of Malaysia (IKIM) by Ahmad Sarji bin Abdul Hamid.
The sides discussed reforms being carried out in our country in the areas of further improving the education system, ensuring religious freedom and tolerance, comprehensive support for young people, as well as the activities of the International Islamic Academy of Uzbekistan (MIAU), the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent, and the Imam Bukhari Research Center , Hadith Science School.
The parties agreed to organize advanced training courses and exchange of faculty members of USIM, IIUM, IKIM and MIAU, short-term and long-term target courses, and internships for university students of the two countries on a parity basis, as well as to conduct joint research on the study of ancient manuscripts stored in Uzbekistan, the publication of scientific materials in Uzbek and Malaysian publications.
Following the results of negotiations, a Memorandum of Understanding with the Islamic Scientific University of Malaysia and a Letter of Intent for cooperation with the International Islamic University of Malaysia were signed.
