Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 6 May, the Europe Day festival was held in Tashkent in the Botanical Garden as part of the Europe Day events organized by the Delegation of the European Union to Uzbekistan.

About 40 projects working in Uzbekistan were presented at the festival. The projects are funded by the European Union and Team Europe. The festival was attended by more than 5,000 people, making it the largest event in recent years, demonstrating the European Union's support for Uzbekistan.

About 40 projects were presented at the festival in such important areas of cooperation between the EU and Uzbekistan as climate change and sustainability in Central Asia, including the Aral Sea region, strengthening the values of civil society, communities and authorities to promote gender equality and women's rights in Uzbekistan, developing a system solid waste processing, Erasmus + educational programs, agricultural development activities, public services and others.

“Since 2023 has been declared the European Year of Skills, I am very pleased that people are showing interest in our projects today. Among the programs funded by the European Union in Uzbekistan are programs that help women, youth and people in remote areas access education. These projects provide the population of Uzbekistan with more opportunities to acquire new skills that will contribute to their further development,” said Charlotte Adrian, Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan.

The festival, held in the Tashkent Botanical Garden, included an entertainment part for the general public. The guests were pleased with the performances of Uzbek pop stars, thematic flash mobs, master classes, creative and sports events, as well as dance zones.
