International "Green Week" in Berlin: new opportunities for agribusiness in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- From 19 to 21 January 2023, a delegation of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan, headed by Minister Aziz Voitov, is on an official visit to Berlin (Germany), where the International Green Week (IGW).

Within its framework, an international exhibition of food products, agriculture and horticulture has been organized. At it, Uzbekistan will present its stand "Made in Uzbekistan".

At the stand of Uzbekistan with an area of 240 square meters, national products from more than 60 entrepreneurs from the Republic of Karakalpakstan, regions of the country and the city of Tashkent are presented. Among them: 227 types of agricultural and food products - fresh and processed fruits and vegetables, processed dairy and meat products, fat and oil products, soft drinks, confectionery, flour and flour products, margarine products and much more. In addition, chefs from Uzbekistan will cook and treat the guests of the exhibition with national dishes (shurpa, samsa, flatbread, etc.) every day.

Entrepreneurs of Uzbekistan take part in the "Green Week" with the intention of establishing cooperation with other countries and are ready to conclude agreements and contracts on the import and export of various products. There are plans to expand additional opportunities for the export of Uzbek fruits and vegetables. Great interest was shown in the development of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Germany on the further development of trade and market relations, as well as on the import of thoroughbred cattle, meat and meat and dairy products produced by Uzbekistan. From the German side there is also an interest in the fishing industry of our country.

It should be noted that the purpose of Uzbekistan’s participation in the Green Week is to conduct a series of negotiations, as well as to conclude export contracts worth more than US$100 million.

Thus, representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan took part in the International Forum on Food and Agriculture (GFFA), which was held in Berlin on 19 January. Also, during the official visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan, the head of the ministry, Aziz Voitov, is scheduled to have a number of meetings and negotiations with ministers and representatives of agriculture from such countries as Mongolia, Germany, Kazakhstan, Canada, Georgia, Poland, the Netherlands, Latvia, France, Turkey, as well as the heads of Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), World Bank and International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD).

International Green Week (IGW) is an international exhibition of food, agriculture and horticulture. Food and beverage manufacturers from all over the world gather here, presenting their products at the exhibition site. At the exhibition, participants test their product, analyze whether it is interesting for people, and also strengthen the image of their products and the country as a whole. In recent years, they have increasingly offered modern services to farmers (such as recreation and shopping in the countryside), as well as information about renewable energy and resources. Representatives and experts from all areas of agriculture and forestry, horticulture and fisheries from Germany and other countries also take part in the exhibition. Thematic sections of the exhibition: wood, wood and wood products; entertainment for the countryside; farm events; organic products; renewable resources; international food products; street food; food trends of the future; wine; agro-industry; flowers; animals.
