International Chess School established in Navoi

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A Presidential Resolution "On additional measures to further popularize and develop chess" was adopted.

 

In accordance with the Resolution, the International Chess School was established in Navoi region in the form of an out-of-school state sports and educational institution with the status of a legal entity.

From 2023, the final stage of the annual International Chess Tournament for the Prize of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan will be held at the International Chess School.

According to the Resolution, from 2023, the following competitions have been held annually on a systematic basis:

tournament "Castling" among youth in all regions;

Cup "Nuroniylar" among the older generation;

tournament "Chexies imkon" among chess players with disabilities;

International tournament "Women’s Chess Championship", dedicated to March 8 - International Women’s Day, with a prize fund of 50 thousand US dollars;

the traditional International tournament "Uzbekistan Chess Open" among chess players from the member countries of the CIS, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization and the Organization of Turkic States.

From the 2022/2023 academic year, it was decided to organize the activities of chess circles in secondary general education schools, secondary specialized, professional, higher educational institutions and regional Youth Centers.

 

Also, seasonal camps are organized annually at the International Chess School, including trainings and master classes for young chess players with the participation of world-famous international grandmasters.
