Interior Department of Tashkent region starts to issue biometric passports

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Department of Interior Affairs of Tashkent region started to issue new biometric passports to citizens, head of the Department on arrival, departure and registration of citizenship of the Ministry of Interior Affairs of Uzbekistan colonel Badriddin Shorikhsiev.

He said that currently all Departments of Interior Affairs of Tashkent city are replacing old passports to new biometric passports.

Badriddin Shorikhsiev underlined that Department of Interior Affairs of Tashkent region began to issue biometric passports, while Department of Interior Affairs of Syrdarya region will start this work soon.

As reported earlier, Uzbekistan plans to replace old passports to new biometric passports till 31 December 2015.
