The total investments of the insurance companies of Uzbekistan comprised 201.3 billion soums as of 1 October 2007. This exceeds the results of the previous year by 15%.
Having examined the performance of local insurance companies in January-September 2007 the analysts of SAIPRO company have concluded that the insurance companies are still highly interested in investing their funds in shares and bank deposits.
Stock investments prevailed in the investment portfolios of all insurance companies. They made up around 56.6% of the investment portfolio on average. Meanwhile, expert noted that the popularity of this tool has declined somewhat, as its share of the investment portfolio has decreased by 3.7%.
At the same time, during the reporting period, insurance companies gradually increased their investments in bank deposits. The share of this form of investment in the portfolios of the companies has increased by 2.6% to 35% of all investments on average.
