Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Institute of the National Rapporteur on combating human trafficking and decent work has been established in Uzbekistan.

President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev signed a decree “On additional measures to combat human trafficking and the widespread introduction of decent work principles.”

According to the decree, the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Persons and Forced Labor was transformed into the National Commission for Combating Trafficking in Persons and Decent Work.

The National Commission consists of:

Sub-commission on Combating Trafficking in Persons, headed by the Minister of Internal Affairs - Deputy Chairman of the National Commission;

Sub-commission on Decent Work, headed by the Minister of Employment and Poverty Reduction - Deputy Chairman of the National Commission.

By his decree, the head of Uzbekistan defined the main tasks of the National Commission.

The National Commission coordinates the activities of republican executive authorities, self-government bodies of citizens, non-governmental non-profit, and other organizations in the field of combating human trafficking, comprehensive support for persons affected by it, as well as the widespread implementation of the principles of decent work, international labor standards, and the protection of labor rights of citizens.

The Chairman of the Jokargy Kenes of the Republic of Karakalpakstan, khokims of regions, the city of Tashkent, districts (cities) are entrusted with the task of leading territorial commissions on issues of combating human trafficking and decent work.

By the Decree, based on the Institute of the National Rapporteur on Combating Trafficking in Persons and Forced Labor, the Institute of the National Rapporteur on Combating Trafficking in Persons and Decent Work was established.
