Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Inflation rate in Uzbekistan made up 7.8% in January-September 2017, the press service of the Central Bank of Uzbekistan said quoting the State Statistics Committee.

According to the bank, the inflation rate increased by 2.2 percentage points compared to the same period of 2016.

At the same time, the average growth in prices for consumer goods made up 7.6% in January-September 2017 (-3.3% in January-September 2016). The increase in prices for non-food products reached 8.6% (+ 6.4%) and paid services - 7% (+7%).

The Central Bank decided to keep the refinancing rate at 14% per annum. This decision was made in order to preserve the profitability of assets in national currency, to ensure positivity of real interest rates and to prevent the growth of money supply in the economy.
