Individual regions to be given the status of "ecomakhalla", "ecovillage" and "ecoaul"

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The resolution of the President "On measures for the effective organization of the activities of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change" was adopted.

The Situation Center was established by the resolution within the structure of the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change.

Until 1 July 2023, solid waste landfills belonging to the state unitary enterprises "Toza Hudud" and the improvement departments are transferred to the Ministry.

For waste from medical institutions, organizations in the field of veterinary medicine and pharmaceuticals, a procedure is being gradually introduced that provides for the implementation until 1 January 2025:

collection and storage of waste - by industry organizations;

removal and disposal of waste - by sanitary cleaning enterprises in a centralized manner.

From 1 July 2023, statements of claim for the forced collection of receivables for services provided to the population for the collection and removal of municipal solid waste are submitted to the judiciary by enterprises providing sanitary cleaning services.

From 1 January 2024, the regime of an ecologically clean territory will be introduced in the tourist and recreational zones of the Bostanlyk and Zaamin districts.

The Ministry was appointed responsible for establishing control over a radical reduction in the use of paper in government bodies and organizations, in some areas - a complete rejection of paper through the complete digitalization of activities.

Assemblies of citizens in territories where the regime of ecologically clean territory has been introduced, from 1 March 2024, are granted the status of "ecomakhalla", "ecovillage" and "ecoaul", the Ministry of Justice reports.
