Indian musicians win Grand-Prix of Sharq Taronalari
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ninth international musical festival “Sharq Taronalari” ended its work in Samarkand city.

Musicians from 52 countries demonstrated their art at Registan square, Mojiza and Nihol amphitheaters, Yoshlik Park, Samarkand, Pastdargam and Jambay districts within a week.

UzA reported that Indian musical band won the Grand-Prix of the Ninth international musical festival “Sharq Taronalari”.

Musicians and singers from Burkina Faso and Afghanistan took first place. The second place was awarded to musicians from China, UK and South Korea and third – Uzbek musician Abror Zufarov, group Chikuyusha from Japan, Austrian artists.

Rashmi Agarval, head of the Indian musical band, said it is difficult to express excitement and pride in words. He said that it is honour to participate in such festival. “The jury liked our music and it is great assessment for art of our people. Using opportunity, I express gratitude to initiator of such wonderful and unique festival to President of Uzbekistan and its organizers,” he said.

The organizers also named the winners in other nomination. The festival wrapped up its work with the concert of the winners of the festival and Uzbek artists.
