According to mass media, the Government of India allocated about US$174 million to cover expenses of the Ministry.

It is worth to mention that Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi is known as an avid yoga fan.

Shripad Naik has been appointed minister of state and will supervise the Department of Ayurveda, Yoga and Naturopathy, Unani, Siddha and Homeopathy. New minister promised to develop national culture of yoga in the country.

“This is our system and it has not received enough prominence,” said Naik. “We will take it to the masses.”
