Just in last four months, Google has declared investing with a US$10 billion fund, Walmart has announce investing US$ 1.2 billion in Flipkart, Foxconn announced investing US$1 billion, Facebook investing 5.7 billion dollars in India’s Reliance Jio Platforms, and the list continues with Qualcomm Ventures, Samsung- the South Korean giant , Kia motors, Saudi Arabis’ PIF, Hyundai Mobis, Tsuzuki- one of the leading Japanese electronics company, Axtria- a global leader in cloud software and data analytics, Thomson, We work Global, are investing in India to profit from its growing market, young population and attractive investment environment.
India may be one of the last great untapped digital markets because roughly about half of its 1.3 billion people have yet to get online. It is expected to see the largest increase of new people on the internet in the coming years. Policy makers in New Delhi have been trying to use that opportunity to attract more investment while at the same time support local start-ups.
Indian Information Communication Technology (ICT) companies have also extended collaborative partnerships with IT firms in Uzbekistan. Commensurate with President Shavkat Mirziyoyev’s call to focus on developing digital economy and areas of science and technology, Software Promotion Council of India with the Embassy of India arranged B2B meetings through video conference between ICT companies of both countries.
IT sphere, about to take a big leap in coming years in Uzbekistan has shown keen interest to develop capacities with Indian IT companies especially in the areas of automation of business processes, hardware in the field of robotics, software in the field of production and services, Big data and data analysis for various companies and cloud software and data analytics. Collaboration between both countries in ICT sphere presents mutually beneficial big opportunity to grow together.
Officials of IT park of Uzbekistan along with various government and sei-government officials from Uzbekistan also undergo training in IT Technology, software development, cyber security, Artificial intelligence, big data analytics under the flagship ITEC programme of Government of India. Indian IT expert is also deputed in the Ministry of Information Technology and IT Park to help develop expertise in ICT in Uzbekistan.
