With 10 participants in Tashkent and 13 in Samarkand, trainings in both cities will last for 10 days, with a final test planned at the end - to give the participants an opportunity to revise and consolidate the materials learned and skills obtained.
The main learning outcomes of these trainings are derived from each group’s particular needs. By the end of the training, the participants are expected to have gained an adequate confidence in using Windows OS, working with and managing files, creating and editing texts using MS Word. Other than that, participants will have learned the basic skills of using the Internet for searching and finding information, and exploiting an electronic mailing system. Trainings in both cities are kindly supported by the Young Programmers Training Center - the long-tested and a very reliable partner of the “ICT Policy” (ICTP) Project.
With two similar trainings having been successfully delivered for other groups of people with disabilities in Tashkent, this is the first time when the two UNDP projects’ joint initiative is reaching out to and involving the disability groups in regions. By the end of these trainings certain participants decide to continue learning IT in more advanced levels and submit their names for future trainings to be organized by ACCESS and ICTP Projects.
