Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- A meeting was held at the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Innovation with representatives of French universities Université Lumière Lyon 2 and Grenoble. Minister Ibrokhim Abdurakhmonov received Attaché of the French Embassy in Uzbekistan S. Bellini, Director of the International French Language Center Université Lumière Lyon 2 F. Violay, Deputy Director of the French Language Training Center of the University of Grenoble G. Karcher.

The parties exchanged views on the state and level of teaching French in higher and professional educational institutions of Uzbekistan, as well as the development of this area. In particular, the presence of French language programs in 11 colleges was noted, as well as the creation of French language programs in a number of higher educational institutions as a result of established links with French universities.

The French side noted the expediency of increasing the duration of 90-hour educational programs in order to improve the qualification level of graduates of language programs.

At the same time, the discussion also included proposals for organizing short-term and long-term programs for teachers of higher and professional educational institutions, attracting French teachers from France to Uzbekistan. 

The parties also discussed the issues of training young people in professional educational institutions in professions and skills in French, as well as attracting them to work in companies in this country.
