In the spring of 2023, the German company plans to open its first hotel brand in Uzbekistan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The website of the specialized German travel magazine FVW/TravelTalk published an article on the visit to Uzbekistan of a delegation of German tour operators led by the President of the German Travel Association (DTV) Norbert Fiebig, Dunyo news agency reported.

It is reported that the visit of the delegation is organized by the Ministry of Tourism and Cultural Heritage, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Germany and the Silk Road Samarkand International Tourist Center.

With reference to the results of the meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of Uzbekistan Aziz Abdukhakimov, it is noted that in recent years Uzbekistan has made a big leap forward in the field of tourism.

The publication notes: “From Tashkent on a high-speed train, you can easily get to the main attractions of the city of Samarkand. The city’s new airport ensures a convenient, safe and pleasant arrival for tourists. On a modern train from Samarkand to Tashkent can be reached in two hours, to Bukhara - in an hour and a half, and to Khiva - in three hours and 40 minutes.

At a meeting at the Ministry of Tourism of Uzbekistan, the issues of implementing the Destination Forum project (a tourism forum of the largest and potential tourism organizations-members of the Association) were discussed with the aim of widely promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan in Europe and increasing the flow of European tourists, promoting the tourism potential of Uzbekistan using the marketing resources of the Association, establishing direct charter flights from Germany to Samarkand, jointly promoting the tourist brand "Uzbekistan" in Europe as a safe country, attracting the largest tour operators to Uzbekistan that are members of the Association.

Particular attention was paid to the results of the reforms carried out in the hotel business. “... The number of hotel beds, despite the coronavirus, has almost tripled in recent years.”

The publication reports that in the spring of 2023, the German company Deutsche Hospitality plans to open its first hotel brand, Intercity Hotel Tashkent, in Uzbekistan.

It should be noted that DTV was founded in the summer of 1950 in Frankfurt am Main as an association of German travel agencies. The organization has more than 10 thousand members, covering 90% of the country’s territory in the field of tourism, including travel companies, hotels, airlines and transport companies that are its members or partners.
