Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - According to the Decree of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev No. UP-5781 from 13 August 2019 “On measures for the further development of the tourism sector in the Republic of Uzbekistan”, it is planned to create, based on existing opportunities in the field, a “Tourist Mahalla”, “Tourist Village” or “Tourist Village”.
In order to ensure high-quality fulfillment of the task, the State Committee for Tourism Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the officials of its administration in Ferghana region are studying the organization of the “Tourist Village” and “Tourist Mahallas” in this region.
In particular, on 26 May 2020, the Working Group arrived and held meetings with residents of the Yorkin mahalla gathering in the city of Margilan. The study revealed the presence of handicrafts (weaving, spinning, embroidery, needlework, sewing, carpet weaving, sericulture, carpentry, wood carving) and bakeries organized according to national traditions.
In addition, local residents expressed interest in organizing family guest houses, guide services and folklore groups for tourists in the future. In the Ferghana region, work continues on the creation of "tourist mahallas."
