In 2020, more than 160 new base stations have been commissioned

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The Ministry for Development of Information Technologies and Communications is implementing major projects to develop telecommunications infrastructure.

In particular, as part of a project to modernize and expand the mobile communications network, Uzbektelecom launched base stations at more than 160 facilities throughout Uzbekistan. It is also important that most of the new base stations are launched in rural areas and remote areas.

The installation of new antenna mast structures, base stations and modern equipment can improve the quality of services and coverage, as well as introduce faster mobile Internet technologies.

Currently, modernization work has been completed in Tashkent, Syrdarya, Andijan, Tashkent, Namangan, Ferghana regions and the Republic of Karakalpakstan. The other day, work on modernization in Khorezm region was successfully completed. As a result of the work performed, all base stations of the UZTELECOM mobile network in the above regions support 4G LTE technology.

In other regions of the country, modernization work is ongoing.
