Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - Experts from the Institute of Macroeconomic and Regional Research (IMRI) experts analyzed the export of fruits and vegetables of the Republic of Uzbekistan for January-August 2023.

Based on the results of January-August 2023, the volume of exports of fruits and vegetables amounted to US$763.6 million, which in physical terms is 1.24 million tons. The growth rate compared to the same period in 2022 was 16.7%.

The largest share in the export of fruits and vegetables was occupied by peach (nectarine) - 8.8%, cherries - 6.9%, onions - 6.9%, grapes - 6.1%, raisins - 5.5%, apricots - 5.3 %, melon and watermelon – 4.8%, tomato – 4.4%.

In January-August 2023, the share of fruits and vegetables in total exports reached 4.6%.

During this period, the main export markets for fruits and vegetables of Uzbekistan were Russia (42.0%), Pakistan (15.4%), Kazakhstan (12.1%), Kyrgyzstan (8.4%), China (8.3%), Turkey (2.2%), Belarus (1.6%), Afghanistan (1.3%), Iran (0.9%), Iraq (0.9%).
