Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Experts from the Institute for Macroeconomic and Regional Studies (IMRI) studied the development of construction work in the regions of Uzbekistan for January-June 2023.

According to the results of January-June 2023, construction work in the amount of 68.1 trillion soums was provided in the republic, with a growth rate of 4.8% compared to the same period of last year.

Using the growth dynamics index, a rating of regions for the development of construction work was developed:

- Ferghana (+21.3%), Surkhandarya (+9.0%), Samarkand (+8.2%), Tashkent (+8.1%), Navoi (+7.2%) and Khorezm (+7.0%) regions, occupying leading positions (1-6 places) in the ranking of regions, are characterized by the dynamic development of construction work due to the systematic implementation of relevant organizational and technical measures;

- The average level of the index is determined in Kashkadarya (+5.3%), Bukhara (+5.1%) and Jizzakh (+4.0%) regions, as well as in the Republic of Karakalpakstan (+4.1%) (take 7-10 places);

- Andijan (+3.1%), Namangan (+3.0%) and Syrdarya (+0.9%) regions have low indicators of the index of construction work growth dynamics (11-13 places);

- The analysis showed that in Tashkent the growth rate (+0.1 percent) slowed down and it took 14th place in the ranking.

The favorable investment and business climate created in Uzbekistan, as well as the presence of significant potential, contribute to further efficient operation and sustainable development of the industry.
