The facts of indoor growing of drugs have been revealed in a number of regions of Uzbekistan. Over 2,000 bushes of opium were seized, Press-uz.info reported quoting the Uzbek Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Reportedly, in Namangan region, the officers of the local internal affairs department together with customs officers revealed two cases where opium was grown on homestead land. In one of the cases, the officers seized 330 bushes, and in the other – 26. In Karakul district of Bukhara region, a local resident was home-growing 1,210 bushes of opium.

In Gallaaral district of Jizzakh region, the internal affairs officers seized 8.7 kg of dried drugs that had been hidden in the house of one of the local residents. In another case, 53.3 grammes of poppy heads and 520 bushes of opium were seized in the house of the resident of Chinaz district of Tashkent region.
