Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- During a raid in the Surkhan State Reserve, employees of the Department of the Ministry of Natural Resources of Surkhandarya region, employees of the Surkhan State Reserve and border troops of the State Security Service prevented the violation, the press service of the Ministry of Natural Resources said.

Two citizens were detained at the protected area of the Vandob department of the Gordara massif for the illegal removal of a Bukhara Mountain sheep cub from nature. It should be noted that the Bukhara mountain sheep is listed in the Red Book of the Republic of Uzbekistan (2019).

As a result of the operational investigation, it turned out that the offenders were A.J., who lives in the Khodjamahmud mahalla of Dekhkanabad district, and G.J., who lives in the Chuchukkuduk mahalla, Kashkadarya region.

In relation to citizens, an administrative protocol was drawn up under part 1 of article 82 of the Code of Administrative Responsibility of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

The Bukhara mountain sheep cub was taken from the hands of poachers and will be kept in the reserve under veterinary supervision until its further fate is decided.

The collected materials and prepared documents will be submitted to law enforcement agencies.
