“ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2019” officially launched

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- On 24 September, in the conference hall of the ITC building, the official opening of the ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2019 Information and Communication Technology Week was announced.

Olimjon Umarov, First Deputy Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications, Chairman of the Organizing Committee of ICTWEEK Uzbekistan 2019, spoke at a press conference.

The annual exhibition of information technologies - “ICTEXPO 2019”, the forum - “DIGITAL UZBEKISTAN”, the conference “MGov Award”, the forum “Innovative technologies and innovative development of the SCO”, the conference “Softline Cybersecurity Day”, the press conference “ACER”: Our news presented at the IFA, and the market of Uzbekistan” will be held in Tashkent. In parallel, the ICTEXPO 2019 exhibition will be held in the city of Fergana.

The next event of the ICT Week will be the forum - “DIGITAL UZBEKISTAN”, which will be held on 25 September in the conference hall of the NEC “Uzexpocenter” in the form of a panel discussion. "DIGITAL UZBEKISTAN" is a unique expert platform for discussing questions about current trends in the field of information technology. The panel discussions of the forum contribute to the development of strategic decisions and programs aimed at developing the country’s information technology industry. The Forum analyzes the contradictions, evaluates the development potential and opportunities for its implementation. Heads of government bodies, heads of enterprises and organizations in the field of information technology and communications, international experts and analysts, representatives of large domestic and foreign IT companies are invited to participate.

By tradition, the Minister of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Shukhrat Sadikov, will open the Forum.

Continuing close cooperation and establishing ties between Uzbekistan and the Republic of Belarus, the Minister of Communications and Information of the Republic of Belarus, Konstantin Shulgan, will make a welcoming speech at the Forum, as well as talk about the prospects for cooperation.

The forum will be attended by top speakers and moderators. The most advanced and relevant topics in the most dynamically developing areas, such as: e-commerce, digital economy, healthcare, education, IoT, 5G and, of course, startups, will be considered. Geography of performances - Uzbekistan, Belarus, Russia, China, Great Britain, Ukraine, Korea. Participants will enjoy presentations by representatives of large international organizations (RCC, World Bank, etc.), as well as successful and recognized IT companies.

No less striking event of the ICT Week is the annual exhibition of information technologies - "ICTEXPO 2019", which will be held from 25 to 27 September in Tashkent in the NEC "Uzexpocenter" and in parallel in the city of Fergana in the Ferghana branch of TUIT.

ICTEXPO 2019 demonstrates modern technologies and solutions provided in the market of information technologies and services. This exhibition will bring together domestic and international companies.

The exhibition will feature: equipment from leading world telecommunication brands, suppliers and manufacturers of lighting and electrical equipment, mobile phone manufacturers, leading telecommunication operators in Uzbekistan, information portals and online stores, government agencies, such as the State Tax Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, a leading Russian satellite communications operator , providers, system integrators and IT companies of Uzbekistan in the field of education, postal services, as well as higher educational institutions in ICT and many others.

Formats of the first two days of the exhibition on 25 and 26 September, according to tradition - B2B, with the aim of more productive business relations. The third day of the exhibition is September 27 - B2C, with various promotions for participants.

For the first time in Uzbekistan, in cooperation with partners from the United Arab Emirates, the republican contest for the development of state-owned mobile applications “MGovAward” will be held. The aim of the competition is to attract, develop, strengthen and stimulate the potential of youth and university students in IT development, and support youth initiatives in the field of information and communication technologies. Directions for the development of mobile applications are healthcare, education, tourism, entrepreneurship, transport and logistics. The official start of the competition will be announced on 26 September in the conference hall of the NEC “Uzexpocenter”.

Also, for the first time in the framework of “ICTWEEK Uzbekistan” on 26 September, the International Business Center will host the forum “Information Technologies and Innovative Development of the SCO”. The forum participants - representatives of foreign states, the diplomatic corps of the SCO countries, leaders and representatives of government bodies, Uzbek and foreign IT companies, public and scientific organizations - intend to discuss problems and work out joint measures to develop information technologies in the SCO countries.

According to the organizers of the event, one of the most important tasks of the Forum is the formation of a consolidated position of representatives of government bodies and IT businesses, as well as the expert community in the main areas of state policy in the field of ICT at the national and regional levels.

Another new event in the ICTWEEK program - the National qualifying round WESG (e-sports world championship) will be held in the final stage of the professional e-sports league of Uzbekistan, organized jointly with the Ministry of Physical Culture and Sports in Uzbekistan, and an e-sports exhibition. The grand final of the republic will be held on 27 September in Tashkent.
