ICT Ministry hosts meeting with the Japanese delegation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 21 January, a meeting was held with the Japanese delegation and postal consultants at the Ministry of Information Technology and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, headed by the director of the Department of International Cooperation and Postal Policy Services of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, Shuhei Shoji.

Welcoming the guests, the Deputy Minister for the Development of Information Technologies and Communications B. Olmatov noted that the Uzbek-Japanese relations are developing on the basis of an agreement on strategic partnership. He noted that long-term mutually beneficial relations have been established with a number of large IT companies, and most importantly, relations between the two countries are developing on the basis of mutual trust. The delegation was also informed about the ongoing innovative projects in the country in the field of postal relations, the challenges facing the system, as well as the plans of the company "Uzbekistan Pochtasi".

The head of the Japanese delegation, Shuhei Shoji, said that the economy of Uzbekistan has grown, which is a good indicator of what is happening in the world, and there are still unused opportunities between the two countries. He emphasized the importance of exchanging experiences with Uzbek postal specialists and exchanging new projects.

During the conversation, Japanese experts exchanged views on the activities of post offices and the development of electronic commerce in the postal system.

At the bilateral meeting, the parties exchanged views on the role of the postal service in shaping business infrastructure at the local and international levels. In addition, the parties discussed the development of cooperation within the framework of the Universal Postal Union.
