Sports 13/07/2007 Ibragimov-Chagaev Lands in Moscow’s Khodynka Arena
On Saturday, 13 October, World Heavyweight Champions Sultan Ibragimov and Russlan Chagaev will not only achieve their dream of unifying the heavyweight crown, they will get to do it in front of an expected crowd of over 14,000 at the Khodynka Arena in Moscow, Russia.

It’s an arena worthy of such a historic event, and one that will truly settle the question of who the best heavyweight in the world today is.

"We are very exciting about promoting this historic event in this state-of-the-art facility and we look forward to Sultan’s homecoming on October 13th", said Leon Margules, Executive Director of Seminole Warriors Boxing.

Ibragimov-Chagaev, a 12 round heavyweight title unification bout, is presented by Nafta Moskva, and will be promoted by Seminole Warriors Boxing, Golden Boy Promotions, Golden Grain Promotions and Sampson Lewkowicz, in association with Universum Box Promotions. Broadcast plans for the bout will be announced once they are secured.

Dagestan’s Ibragimov (21-0-1, 17 KOs), the WBO Heavyweight Champion and a 2000 Olympic Silver Medalist for Russia, will be fighting at home for the first time since an eight round decision win over Alexei Osokin in March of 2004. Uzbekistan’s Chagaev (23-0-1, 17 KOs), the WBA Heavyweight Champion, will be making his debut in Russia on October 13th.

The Khodynka Arena, a state-of-the-art facility with a capacity of 14,500, was opened in December of 2006. In addition to Ibragimov-Chagaev, it will be hosting the 2007 Men’sWorld Ice Hockey Championships.
