Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) - On 18 December, the National Interbank Processing Center (NMPC) together with the global payment technology company Visa announced the launch of accepting payments with international Visa cards via the HUMO system.

Now Visa cardholders can pay for goods and services nationwide in more than 176,000 HUMO payment terminals.

“We are always striving to provide cardholders with the most modern and convenient solutions, therefore we are pleased to launch in Uzbekistan the acceptance of payments with international Visa cards in the entire HUMO terminal network. I’m sure that now that our network has expanded to accept Visa cards, this will be an additional impetus for the development of cashless payments in Uzbekistan and will help create additional opportunities for foreign guests,” Kurbanov Shukhratbek, director of the NMPC, said.

“The development of the reception network is important for popularizing cashless payments and building a modern payment ecosystem in Uzbekistan. We are pleased that after starting to accept Visa cards in an ATM network, today we are expanding our cooperation and opening a HUMO terminal network for receiving Visa cards. I am sure that this step will open up new opportunities for business development for both trade and service enterprises and our partner banks, as well as make cashless payments even more convenient for citizens of Uzbekistan,” Aliya Chynybayeva, Visa General Manager for Central Asia, said.
