HUMO and Mastercard to issue HUMO-Mastercard-International cards

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- The National Interbank Processing Center and Mastercard signed an agreement to launch the HUMO International project. The document implies the release of joint HUMO-Mastercard-International cards. Holders of these cards will be able to make payments on the Mastercard network.

On 12 June, the National Interbank Processing Center (NMPC) and the international payment system Mastercard announced the signing of an Agreement, according to which the work on the issuance of joint HUMO-Mastercard-International cards will begin.

Holders of HUMO-Mastercard-International payment cards will be able to pay for purchases at all points on the Mastercard network in Uzbekistan and around the world. With international cards it’s convenient to pay for purchases, receive cashless transfers, book hotel rooms, buy tickets online, pay for purchases in online stores, including online payments at foreign sites. Cards will be issued with contactless technology - this is a simple, convenient and safe way to pay for purchases, in which the card does not need to be inserted into the terminal, and just one touch on the payment device to make the payment.

“We are pleased to develop close cooperation with Mastercard, despite the current conditions associated with the pandemic. As soon as the world situation stabilizes and flights between countries become possible again, HUMO-Mastercard-International card holders will be able to easily, while still at home, pay for tickets, book a hotel, and being in another country pay by card in a taxi and in almost any store. We hope that thanks to this project, in a short time, cardholders will feel all the conveniences associated with the technology of cashless payments,” commented Shukhratbek Kurbanov, director of the NMPC.

“The priority of our company is the development of the modern payment industry, so we regard this project as the beginning of a successful cooperation, which, I am sure, will only expand. The transition to cashless payments will give an additional incentive to the development of tourism and strengthen the economy of Uzbekistan, as it contributes to the formation of a more open, safe, effective and transparent environment for all market participants. The spread of modern payment technologies opens up new opportunities for citizens, entrepreneurs, financial institutions and the state,” said Rafal Trapka, CEO of Mastercard in Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Turkmenistan.

Partners will additionally inform about the start of the release of HUMO-Mastercard-International cards.
