Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Huawei in Uzbekistan, together with the Yuksalish National Movement, within the framework of the concluded Memorandum, transferred green spaces and funds for the treatment of adult trees in the Friendship Park in order to support the Bir Million Darakht campaign.

On 13 November 2021, Huawei in Uzbekistan and the Yuksalish National Movement signed a Memorandum of Understanding to support the Bir Million Darakht campaign aimed at the sustainable development of Uzbekistan and mitigating the effects of climate change through the widespread planting of trees. On the same day, a joint planting of seedlings was carried out on the territory of the Children’s National Medical Center, in which Huawei employees with their families, employees and volunteers of the Yuksalish National Movement and the Ezgu Amal Public Foundation took part.

On 24 December 2021, another eco-event was organized in the Friendship Park, which is more aimed at treating and saving adult trees from pests and diseases. The necessary tools, materials and preparations were handed over to the eco-volunteers, and 80 seedlings of shrubs and trees were planted.

The topic of preserving the environment and mitigating the effects of climate change through the introduction of innovative technologies and the joining of joint efforts between participants in various fields of activity has become one of the main topics all over the world. And we, being a technology-based and socially responsible company, are happy to take an active part and contribute everywhere to support the sustainable development of Uzbekistan,” said Director of Huawei Uzbekistan Mr. Liu Jiaxing.

Cooperation with public and non-governmental organizations, educational institutions has been an integral part of Huawei’s activities in Uzbekistan for over 20 years. In pursuit of its corporate social responsibility and support for sustainable development of local communities, Huawei carried out a number of projects during the year, including supporting the activities of the Ezgu Amal Public Foundation. Last year, the organizations signed a memorandum under which Huawei again supported the Ezgu Amal Public Foundation in December this year with a charitable donation to support families fighting cancer.
