Huawei launches a number of projects to support talented youth

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Paying constant attention to the field of education and the introduction of digital technologies in the learning processes of young people, Huawei has launched a number of projects in educational institutions of Uzbekistan.

Huawei has launched the annual educational project Seeds for the Future in Uzbekistan, which has been implemented for seven years in the country. The Global Flagship Curriculum was first held in Thailand in 2008 and has reached 9,000 students worldwide in 130 countries and regions to date. On an annual basis, 10 students of the Tashkent University of Information Technologies (TUIT) went to China for a two-week internship, where they received in-depth knowledge of ICT solutions and immersed themselves in the study of Chinese culture and traditions.

Due to the epidemiological situation in the world, in 2020 the project moved to the online format, allowing to reach more young people interested in IT technologies. In addition to the participants in all branches of TUIT, students of INHA University in Tashkent and students of the Specialized School of Information and Communication Technologies Muhammad al-Khorezmi also joined the program last year.

This year, Seeds for the Future unites students from 5 universities with IT areas at once - TUIT, INHA, Amity Universities, as well as Yeoju and Turin Polytechnic institutes. The project will take place in a hybrid format at the Huawei office in Tashkent with the support of the headquarters in November this year. Students of the Muhammad al-Khorezmi ICT School will also join the 2021 program, who will take part in a specially organized Hackathon.

In addition to cooperation with higher educational institutions, Huawei is a long-term partner of the Academic Lyceum "International House Tashkent" at the Tashkent Institute of Irrigation and Agricultural Mechanization Engineers. In April of this year, the management of Huawei in Uzbekistan took part in the opening ceremony of the Center for Identifying Talent jointly opened by the Lyceum International House Tashkent and the National Research University Higher School of Economics. In order to introduce advanced digital technologies into the Center's activities, Huawei donated the Ideahub smart board free of charge, which allows you to comfortably conduct distance lessons, lectures and meetings, while maintaining the effectiveness of "live" communication.

Huawei also provides ongoing support to Specialized Comprehensive School No. 59 with in-depth study of the Chinese language. Back in 2017, at school 59, a pilot project was carried out to introduce "smart" technologies into the school education system, and last year the company donated the org. equipment, in the form of laptops, smart TV, printer to improve the technical equipment of the institution. On October 12, 2021, the management of School No. 59 and Huawei signed a Memorandum to launch a competition to identify talents among school students for the best knowledge of the Chinese language. During October and November, students will complete creative assignments to determine project winners.

“Conducting and supporting educational projects in Uzbekistan for our company is one of the priority areas of sustainable development. We strive to share cutting-edge ICT knowledge for digital training, as in the case of the Seeds for the Future project or the regional ICT competitions Huawei Cup, as well as support young talents in various areas beyond IT, including cooperation with School 59 and Lyceum International House Tashkent ". Diligence and pursuit of knowledge now will lay the foundation for a strong talent pool in the future,” said Forrest Liu, Director of Huawei in Uzbekistan.
