Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Odilbek Isakov, who worked as a director of one of the HSBC’s departments in London, was appointed adviser to the finance minister of Uzbekistan.

He also became the head of the new Office of sovereign state, corporate (bank) debt obligations and state debt of the Ministry of Finance of Uzbekistan.

The Office was formed by the presidential decree from 21 July “On additional measures to diversify sources of external financing”.

The resolution envisages receiving of the sovereign credit rating of Uzbekistan and the appointment of a consortium of banks headed by J.P. Morgan Chase as a financial consultant to obtain the rating and issue of sovereign bonds of the country.

Isakov worked at HSBC Bank in London for the last 12 years. Since March 2016, he served as director of department of customer service in the debt capital market of HSBC.
