Housing for 25,000 residents to be built in Margilan

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – Today, Margilan in Ferghana region is one of the most densely populated cities, and its population is expected to grow in the near future.

With the aim of creating decent conditions for young families and future generations, the President proposed the construction of a new residential area in the city. During today’s meeting with representatives of the older generation and the public of Margilan, the President sought their opinion on the construction of the residential area.

"In many parts of our country, we are building new residential areas and neighborhoods. I am aware of the living conditions of Margilan residents and their housing needs. Taking into account these requirements and wishes, the dream of many families, we are considering the construction of modern houses," said Shavkat Mirziyoyev.

According to the project, the residential area will cover 110 hectares. Specifically, multi-story buildings with 5,000 apartments will be constructed, accommodating 25,000 residents.

The project also includes plans for the Burhonuddin Margilani International Scientific Research Center, the Makom Art Theater, a legal institute, four hotels, avenues for poets and artists, and shopping complexes. Special attention will be given to green areas, including the creation of a park.

Representatives of the older generation, speaking on behalf of the community, approved the plans, noting that the people have long awaited such a project. They blessed the initiative and wished success.

"Today, we have seen large industrial enterprises in Ferghana. New power plants have been launched. Why? To ensure stable operation of enterprises for our people. Now I would like you to join the reforms and help mahallas transform into areas where poverty and unemployment have no place," the President said.

The head of state instructed responsible officials to carefully plan the residential area based on international experience, focusing on the construction of houses and infrastructure for the future.
