Honourable Consulate of Thailand opens in Tashkent
Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) -- Honourable Consulate of Thailand was opened in Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Jahon news agency under Uzbekistan Foreign Ministry reported.

Advisor of Thailand Foreign Ministry Chompoonut Nakornthap said opening of Honourable Consulate is evidence for high interest of Bangkok to establishing long-term partnership with Uzbekistan.

She said that tourism is one of perspective directions of cooperation between Uzbekistan and Thailand. Currently, Uzbek citizens have right to receive visas at arrival and Hobourable Consulate will be authorized to issue visas to Thailand, which will simplify process and increase number of tourists from Uzbekistan and Thailand.

Chompoonut Nakornthap praised tourism potential of Uzbekistan. She said Uzbekistan located at the crossroads of Great Silk Road and Samarkand, Bukhara and Khiva show rich and diverse culture.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Thailand to Uzbekistan with residence in Moscow Chalermpol Tanchit underlined that opening of Honourable Consulate of Thailand in Tashkent was connected with intention to further develop relations, expand trade-economic and scientific-technical relations and direct contacts between two states.

Honourable Consul Zafar Ergashev stated that he will do all to justify trust of Thailand and will contribute to development of friendly relations. He said consulate will help to boost tourism, trade-economic cooperation and better understanding of cultures and spiritual values of people.
