Honeywell expands its presence in Uzbekistan to support industrial digital transformation

Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — The American corporation Honeywell has announced the establishment of a new legal entity in Uzbekistan aimed at supporting the automation and digital transformation of strategically important industrial sectors. As a leading technology company, Honeywell develops solutions aligned with three key global megatrends: automation, the advancement of future aviation, and the energy transition.

The official launch of the local entity, Honeywell Industrial Automation LLC, took place at a special event hosted at the residence of the U.S. Ambassador to Uzbekistan. The event was initiated by U.S. Ambassador Jonathan Henick, who gathered representatives from government agencies and the business community, including the Minister of Energy, Jurabek Mirzamakhmudov.

During the event, Honeywell reaffirmed its commitment to long-term partnerships with Uzbekistan's governmental and industrial sectors, with a strong focus on the country’s digital transformation and energy strategy. The primary areas of cooperation encompass the oil and gas, petrochemical, mining, and metallurgical industries. Additionally, the company unveiled its plans to expand its engineering infrastructure in Uzbekistan, including the creation of a new Global Engineering Center (GEC) within its recently established Tashkent office.

The new center will serve as a cutting-edge hub for engineering expertise, enhancing customer support through locally developed technologies while also creating new opportunities for Uzbek engineers' professional growth.

"We are pleased to strengthen our presence in Uzbekistan by developing a new legal entity and continuing our nearly 30-year history of introducing advanced technologies into key economic sectors," emphasized Uygar Doyuran, President of Honeywell for Türkiye, Israel, and Central Asia. "The establishment of the Global Engineering Center in Tashkent will open new horizons for us in adapting innovative solutions to local market needs while also expanding career prospects for the country’s talented specialists."

Honeywell has been operating in Uzbekistan since 1998, having implemented over 100 technological projects across energy, oil and gas, mining, and metallurgy. Moving forward, the company aims to enhance efficiency and productivity in these sectors by integrating digital technologies to optimize critical processes using operational data.

A key aspect of Honeywell’s strategy is the development of highly skilled professionals for the digital industry. The company has already partnered with leading Uzbek universities, granting UniSim software licenses to the Tashkent State Technical University. Looking ahead, Honeywell plans to expand collaborative research projects and establish laboratories within educational institutions, enabling future specialists to master cutting-edge technologies and strengthen their professional skills.
