Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) – A 24-year-old resident of Syrdarya region M.S. was registered at the Center for the Fight against AIDS as HIV-positive in February 2020.

Despite the fact that this citizen was duly warned about criminal liability, she deliberately embarked on the path of committing a crime. In the period from August to December 2022, in the steppe zone located on the territory of Bukhara region, she several times had sexual intercourse with four men, knowing in advance that she was infected with HIV and risked transmitting this disease to these persons.

On this fact, a criminal case has been initiated under part 4 of article 113 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and a preliminary investigation is currently underway. This was reported by the press service of the Internal Affairs Directorate of the Bukhara region.
