Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — At the beginning of the 2024-2025 academic year, the coverage of higher education among the population of the Republic of Uzbekistan aged 18-23 reached 47.7%. This was reported by the National Statistics Committee.

This achievement was made possible by the rapid growth observed since 2014, when the coverage was only 6.8%. Over the past decade, higher education coverage has increased by 40.9%, reflecting significant changes in the country’s education system.

The dynamics of this indicator in recent years also confirms growth. In 2015, the coverage was only 7%, but by 2023 it had already reached 45.9%.

A significant jump occurred starting from 2020, when higher education coverage rose to 18.7%. This was driven by an active reform of the educational system, the creation of new universities and programs, as well as an increase in the number of grants and other forms of student support.
