Tashkent, Uzbekistan (UzDaily.com) — On 3 February 2025, the first meeting of deputy foreign ministers from the member states of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) was held in Tehran under the chairmanship of Kazakhstan. Representatives of member states discussed key issues of cooperation and the future development of the organization.
The delegation of the Republic of Uzbekistan was led by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bobur Usmanov. The meeting focused on preparations for the upcoming ECO Summit, scheduled to take place in Azerbaijan in 2025.
Participants exchanged views on improving ECO’s activities and strengthening economic and strategic cooperation among member states. Special attention was given to the implementation of the "ECO Vision 2025" program, aimed at fostering regional integration and enhancing economic ties.
Additionally, discussions included the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan to develop a conceptual document, "Strategic Goals of Economic Cooperation – 2035," which will outline long-term priorities for collaboration within the organization.
The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of ECO member states to strengthening cooperation and creating favorable conditions for sustainable economic development in the region.
